In early 2005, after consulting with Dr. Medina for several years regarding the XRtainment Zone dream, the two joined forces and endeavored to make the dream a reality. Joel is an attorney who has spent the last 19 years assisting his employers and clients meet and overcome their business and legal challenges. Joel brings the same skill and experience to MedPlay Technologies and is now dedicated to ensuring MedPlay not only meets its financial and management goals, but that it enriches the lives of its members by providing an opportunity for them to live healthier and happier lives.

In 1988 Joel graduated from Pacific Union College, located in the Napa Valley, with two bachelor degrees, one in business administration and the other in international communications. Following graduation, he married his wife, Judy, and moved to the Washington D.C. area where he was employed as an Underwriting Specialist in the Risk Management Department of the world headquarters of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.  In 1991, he moved back to California after accepting a job in the Risk Management Department for Loma Linda University Medical Center ("LLUMC"). 

In 1994 Joel became the Manager of Insurance for LLUMC and enrolled in law school at Western State University College of Law in Fullerton.  In 1996, he received his Juris Doctor degree and in 1997 was hired by the Redlands law firm of Ziprick, Schilt, Heinrich and Cramer, LLUMC's general counsel.  Joel worked as an associate for the Ziprick firm until 2003 when he accepted a position with the Palm Springs' firm of Slovak, Baron and Empey, LLP, the largest law firm in the Coachella Valley. In 2004, Joel was offered a position with the Ontario firm of Roberts & Associates, where he counseled businesses and individuals in litigation, employment & labor, transactional, business and corporate law matters.

Joel began working full time with XRtainment Zone in November of 2005. He is a member of the State Bar of California, the United States District Court of the Central District of California, the American Bar Association and the San Bernardino County Bar Association.  He served on the board of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce from 2002 until 2005 and was honored to be the President of the Chamber for the year 2004.  He has also served on his local church board, was Vice-Chair of the City of Redlands' Utility Advisory Committee, chaired the Chamber's Government Review Committee and also enjoys being a youth basketball coach, a church elder and a teacher in the children divisions of his church.  Joel and Judy have two children, Cameron, and Cassandra.
